TIP OF THE DAY NO. 58 – DON’T BE AN IMPULSE BUYER!

TIP NO. 58 – DON’T BE AN IMPULSE BUYER!

You probably don’t think that you are, but if you want to find out go through  your closet and see how many items still have the Hang Tag and Price ticket on them.

These are items you bought on impulse or they wouldn’t have the price ticket still on, and were never worn. You must have liked them at the time – thinking they would be great to wear on a hot day, or to go out, or for the weekend – or was it maybe a SALE  sign that made you buy them?

Believe me I am not making it up – I have met many women who say, “Oh, you should see  how many things in my closet still have the price ticket on.”  It is a pity that your budget was spent for something that you are not wearing.

So if you find out that you are an impulse buyer, think twice before you go to the cash register!

TIP OF THE DAY NO.46 – SALES AND SAVING MONEY

TIP. NO 46 – SALES AND SAVING MONEY

The word SALE is like magic – we are drawn to it like moth to the light. We feel compelled to go and check it out – we don’t want to miss a bargain – but whatever we buy at a reduced price is only a bargain when we can pay for it – either with cash or when using your credit card, by paying the full amount at the end of the month.

If you don’t, the interest charged to your balance at the end of the month, and each month after that,  makes what you bought at a reduced price very, very expensive.  Therefore, only let  SALES tempt you when you can afford it without making the bank a little richer.

TIP OF THE DAY – NO. 6 LOOKING GOOD AND DRESSING WELL

TIP NO. 6  Buy the right size – you will say of course I do – but sometimes we fall in love with a dress or top because it is on sale, or it is sexy, or it is a Ralph Lauren, but it is a little small – thinking well I am going to lose those extra pounds, and then it will fit!’

Most of the time we don’t lose the extra pounds and we are stuck with something we can’t wear or we look like this!

TIP OF THE DAY – NO. 1 – LOOKING GOOD AND DRESSING WELL

Hello Everyone

Today I will start giving you  ONE TIP  a day – to help you look your best, and to make your life easier by having the perfect wardrobe.

The first serie of tips will be on how to buy your clothes because that is where it all starts — and that is where the mistakes are made.scan0004- 2

TIP NO I – Beware of Sales – especially at this time of the year when all stores are advertising big reductions, sometimes up to 70%. I have to admit I have never seen anything reduced by 70% but it made me come in the store. So if you go in, hang on to your purse, make sure you need what you buy.

NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION ——–?

Hello Everyone

No, I have not been in touch for a while, so let me tell you first about my New Year’s Resolution – I promise to be in touch more often and I hope you will be too!

The New Year’s Resolution I would like you to make is:

NOT to buy a top or skirt, or whatever else might be on sale, because it is CHEAP. The best value you can get is to buy something you need, something of good quality, something you love and will wear for a long time – and please make sure that it has a mate – don’t buy just a top or bottom – buy an outfit and you won’t ever have to worry about what goes with what!

HAPPY NEW YEAR AND HAPPY SHOPPING IN 2013

Until next time

SALES – BEWARE! BEWARE!

Hello Everyone

75% Off – 90% Off is like  magic – it pulls us into the stores every time, and at this time of the year there is hardly a store not advertising what they promise to give away.

But beware …. the reason you can  buy a top for $12 is because it is a left over from the last season. Do you really want a left over? Do you really need it? Or are you buying it because it is reduced? Most of us don’t need to add another t-shirt to the other 15 in our closet.

Therefore, if you see the sales signs – walk on – don’t even go in the store thinking ‘let me just see what they have’ – they have nothing you want for the coming season.

It is wiser to keep the $12 and all the other twelve dollars and put the money towards your fall wardrobe. Soon the new collections are in the stores –  of course, they will be full price, but not having spend your money in the sales, you can, and you will enjoy buying an item that is the latest look. It  will make you  look up-to-date, and it will make you feel good.

20 STEPS HOW TO AVOID MISTAKES IN YOUR WARDROBE #16 & # 17

Hello Everyone

Since we are still in the midst of sales, sales, sales —-everywhere! our next step is to avoid the temptations marked  ‘Reduced.’

#16 BEWARE OF SALES

Of course you can find a bargain in a sale……but only if you are an experienced shopper.

During sales more mistakes are made than any other time. Remember, it doesn’t matter how pretty a dress is, if you have no use for it………. IT’S NO BARGAIN. Say you find a lovely dress reduced to $80 from $400 (Who can resist a bargain like that? Not many of us) but if you have no occasion in the near future to wear it, it will just hang in your closet — and when months later you are invited and wonder what to wear, you remember the dress you bought a while ago. Getting it out of your wardrobe, probably still with the tag on it, you might ask yourself the following questions:

-Do I still like the dress?

-Is it still in style?

– Do I still feel that it is a new dress? (having seen it in my closet for months).

Whatever the answer, you will probably wear the dress because you have it. Wouldn’t it be better to buy a nice dress NOW? – A dress that will fit your mood and the occasion? Nothing lifts your spirits more than wearing a brand new dress — don’t let a bargain spoil your fun.

Sales are great when you can find an item that you need and can wear —-NOW!

#17 SPEND MORE MONEY ON

Coats

-Suits

-Accessories

These items should cost more than other things in your wardrobe. You will wear a coat or a suit longer than other thing. Spending more means better quality. Better quality means that you will look better and project a positive image.

Accessories should not be cheap – a good scarf can always make a simple, inexpensive dress look good, but never the other way around.

More on accessories next week  — until then
