TIP OF THE DAY NO. 34 – BE CONSISTENT

TIP NO 34. – BE CONSISTENT

Whatever we decide to do to improve ourselves – our looks, our health, our body —- will only work if done regularly. You’re not obliged to do something everyday, but work out a certain pattern such as a face masque once a week – exercise twice a week, or having four nights of enough sleep.

It’s like saving money: A little regularly will become a lot eventually!

No, I won’t see you tomorrow because I am going away, and believe it or not, to a place that  has no internet connection – yes they still do exist – but I will see you again regularly as of February 27, 2013. Until then, stay well.

TIP OF THE DAY – NO. 9 LOOKING GOOD AND DRESSING WELL

TIP NO. 9  Try it on before you buy!

When you see the label marked  ‘Medium’ and you are a ‘Medium’ you probably think you don’t have to try it on – and how often have you come home and found out that this is not ‘Your Medium’  – leaving you with two choices – one – you take it back to the store (what a waste of time) or – two- you will never make it back to the store and it just sits in your closet with the ticket on it forever -result – you have lost time and money!

If you don’t have the time to try on a garment, or it is a cold winter day, like today, and you don’t feel like getting undressed, DON’T BUY IT!  Come back another day and save yourself the hustle of returning it, or never wearing it.

See you tomorrow

TIP OF THE SAY – NO. 7 LOOK GOOD AND DRESS WELL

TIP NO. 7   – When you buy a pant suit and a skirt is available, spend the extra money and buy it. It might be more expensive at the moment, but the price of the third piece saves you buying another suit. You will get twice the wear out of the suit, because jackets don’t wear out as fast as a skirt or pants – besides it gives you an option for a different look.

See you tomorrow

SALES – BEWARE! BEWARE!

Hello Everyone

75% Off – 90% Off is like  magic – it pulls us into the stores every time, and at this time of the year there is hardly a store not advertising what they promise to give away.

But beware …. the reason you can  buy a top for $12 is because it is a left over from the last season. Do you really want a left over? Do you really need it? Or are you buying it because it is reduced? Most of us don’t need to add another t-shirt to the other 15 in our closet.

Therefore, if you see the sales signs – walk on – don’t even go in the store thinking ‘let me just see what they have’ – they have nothing you want for the coming season.

It is wiser to keep the $12 and all the other twelve dollars and put the money towards your fall wardrobe. Soon the new collections are in the stores –  of course, they will be full price, but not having spend your money in the sales, you can, and you will enjoy buying an item that is the latest look. It  will make you  look up-to-date, and it will make you feel good.

MONEY- DO YOUR CLOTHES EARN THEIR KEEP?

Hello Everyone

I hope that you have started the New Year with a lot of fun and some New Year’s resolutions.

One of them should be  —  make sure that the clothes you buy are earning their keep. What do I mean? Well sometimes we spend a lot of money on an item and hardly ever wear it – that item is not earning its keep. And on the other hand we have things in our wardrobe, which might have been less expensive, but we could not imagine life without.

I once bought a pair of black pants on sale which I did not really need – but you know how it goes –  they were on sale. Well, it so happened that none of the other black pants I have, perform as well. as these. These fit, keep their crease and are washable – that is real dividend.

If you are wondering about the performance of your clothes, take some time to go through you wardrobe. Put the items you love and wear a lot to one side and those you rarely wear, for whatever reason, on the other. And looking at the clothes you hardly wear, you will be surprised how much you have invested in things that bring no return.

So this year’s New Year’s resolution: – buy only clothes which have a lot of mileage, which allow you to wear them frequently. In order to focus on this while you are shopping remember:

– don’t fall in love with that cute top

– decide if you need it

– will it fit into my lifestyle

– do I have anything to wear it with

– do I really feel comfortable in it

By answering these questions you will avoid the items we refer to as “I don’t know why I ever bought this, I hardly wear it. ” It will save you money, and your clothes will earn their keep!

Until the next time
