POST OF THE DAY no. 24 – MIRROR MIRROR ON THE……………….

TIP NO. 24 MIRROR MIRROR  ON THE WALL……..   silver mirrior

WHO’S THE FAIREST ONE OF ALL?

If you want to be the fairest one of all your make-up must be well applied. To be absolute sure, take a hand mirror and go to a window where you can see your face by daylight. You might put your make-up on in the bathroom, or somewhere where the light is not so good, making  it difficult to get the whole picture.

So tomorrow morning when you have applied your make-up, take a mirror and try it. You might be surprised that your eye shadow is a little to heavy, or that your powder is too much, showing up any wrinkles, or that your lipstick is too red.

It won’t take long to adjust it, but you will then be sure that you are the fairest one of all. Have a good day!

See you tomorrow

2012 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

600 people reached the top of Mt. Everest in 2012. This blog got about 2,400 views in 2012. If every person who reached the top of Mt. Everest viewed this blog, it would have taken 4 years to get that many views.

BOTOX – FACELIFT – WHEN DO YOU NEED IT?

Hello Everyone

There was a time when women did not admit to dyeing their hair or having a perm. Of course that was a long time ago. Today it is just the opposite. I met a neighbor of mine the other morning, and she greeted me with, “This afternoon I am having Botox.” I did not see why because she is only in her early 40s and I could not see anything in her face that needed help.

But needing it or not does not seem to be the question today. Years ago one felt left out when you did not have a Physiciatrist, and today women say very proudly, “I had work done” pointing to their face.

Sometimes they look better after ‘having work done’ but many times it is hard to see the difference. Yes, I know what is important is that the woman feels better about herself – but she will only feel better when the results are good, which is not always the case. Just look at  some actors and actresses, and the people we see on the street, who have a taut, shiny skin, with a mask like appearance.

Since more and more people, women and yes MEN, are having work done there are many more doctors out there who do it – and it is hard to know how good they are. The ‘before and after’ pictures they show you don’t really tell you how you will look because every person is different.

I spent the last weekend with a friend who went in for what they described as ‘minor corrections”  – well it did not look minor when I came to pick her up. A huge bandage covered her head, her eyes were blood-shot and swollen, her words when she saw me, “Had I known it would be like this I would not have had it done.”  Her ‘down-time is more than a week. They had told her it would just be a few days. Her bruises won’t disappear for a few weeks.

So what is my point? Don’t overreact when the first wrinkles appear. If you start in your 40s or sometimes even earlier to ‘have work done’ what will you do 20 years down the road? But should you decide to go for it, do as much research as possible – don’t only get on-line to check out a doctor – they all say that they are wonderful – go to meet them personally, and have a list of questions ready. He must answer all of them and you must be comfortable with him – and if that is true with the first consultation you have, I would suggest that you still go to see at least one other doctor, or better yet two. After all it is your face and your money, and it is not a small amount at that.

Don’t get me wrong – I think it is wonderful to have this option to look younger, but please make sure, you get it done right. On the other hand, who knows,  if there are too many mishaps wrinkles might even become fashionable one day!

Until the next time
