TIP OF THE DAY NO. 37 – A DRESS FOR A SPECIAL OCCASION

TIP NO. 37 – A DRESS FOR A SPECIAL OCCASION

When we receive an invitation to a wedding, a cocktail party, a formal dinner party — isn’t our first thought  ‘Oh what will I wear?

Our second concern it that we have to spend money unexpectedly, money that might not be in our budget at this time. What is the answer?   Thrift Shops!

We talked about thrift shops yesterday – and today I want to point out that besides all the other bargains you can find there, it is a very good place to find a dress for that special occasion – not being an everyday item there is usually a big choice, and they are always in good condition. because the previous owner probably only wore it once – and for the price you pay – $50 – $75 – you can afford to buy it for just one occassion too, without thinking what you will do with it later

As for the style, you can find dresses from the 1950s  – a style that is in again now – look at this photo –Brigitte 1950.jpg yes, it is a dress from the 1950s – and it is what everybody is wearing now – just remember  what you saw on the Red Carpet a few weeks ago – isn’t this what most actresses wore – a staples gown. So if you take your time and look carefully you will indeed find something up-do-date and suitable for your special occasion at a price you can afford  -even if it was not really in your budget.

See you tomorrow
